GaymerX East 2017!

Created by GaymerX

November 4th and 5th - we will gather in New York City to celebrate the ways gaming and LGBTQ culture have (and will continue to!) come together. GaymerX is the premier event series for LGBTQ Gamers and Games. At GXEast in New York on November 4th and 5th, attendees will experience the newest and greatest in queer gaming culture. With handpicked game demos, exciting presentations, and special guests, this is a conference you won't want to miss.

Latest Updates from Our Project:

Last Minute Stretch Goal and First Boss of Honor!!!
almost 7 years ago – Thu, Jun 15, 2017 at 05:55:04 PM

Filmed Panels!

First off, we want to announce that we are setting a stretch goal of $39,000 to film the panels!

That would roughly cover the cost of getting a team and equipment to do this. What we'd do from there is film the panels at the event and upload them onto the GaymerX YouTube for the world to see for free! This makes our conference a lot more accessible to people who might not be able to afford to make it! Lets see if we can take this campaign one step further before the very end!

Next, we wanted to announce our first Boss of Honor!!

Robert Yang

Needing very little introduction, Robert Yang is an amazing game developer and teacher at NYU who has not only run the brilliant Radiator design blog for years, but he’s also made a host of games that cover topics of sex, consent, relationships, intimacy, and gay culture in very unpredictable and interesting ways.

We're extremely excited to have Robert join us and show us some of his games and we think you'll find his keynote talk very enlightening!

Robert is the first of our BoH for GaymerX East and we're excited to show you the few that we have lined up! (We promise we won't go overboard like we have in the past with 20+ BoH, or we'll try anyway ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ )

Sending Love from E3!

Look it's Matt with Dave Fennoy, Melissa Hutchison, and Erin Fitzgerald!
Look it's Matt with Dave Fennoy, Melissa Hutchison, and Erin Fitzgerald!

Toni, Matt, and JJ have been super busy spreading the good word over at E3 this week and we're excited to bring you lots of really cool stuff! Since we funded a little early, E3 has been a lot of celebration with many folks in the industry about keeping GaymerX alive and you guys are the cause of that celebration!

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!!

Oh, and PS: Our tabletop stuff is already underway and we've got something REALLY exciting coming up that we're stoked to tell you about!

We have passed $20,000! Huge thank you to Devolver and of course Microsoft!
almost 7 years ago – Wed, Jun 14, 2017 at 07:32:19 PM

Wow!

In just a few days, we've zoomed past 50% and are now over $20,000, with less than $14,000 to go. We're really thrilled, and we're beginning to look into the reality that this is really going to happen! We're beginning to talk to potential Bosses of Honor, looking into room blocks, and getting the ticketing system set up.. Exciting! We were REALLY nervous there...now just a little nervous ;)

Part of how we were able to get there is in thanks to all of you! We want to give a huge shoutout to Nigel from Devolver who gave us a very generous donation in the past day, and of course to our main sponsor Microsoft, for donating the amazing space in TIMES SQUARE for the weekend of GX East. Lastly, we want to shout out Sanshee for donating some Turing plushies for the KS :)

We have some really cool stuff planned and we're excited that the possibility of bringing back the event is so close.. Please share with your friends and keep an eye out for more news soon!

9 Days Left! 15K to go!
almost 7 years ago – Wed, Jun 07, 2017 at 10:48:42 AM

Hey gaymers and friends!

We're entering the home stretch of GaymerX East 17' Kickstarter and we need YOUR help! Please consider sharing this campaign -- why?

1) This is the only US GaymerX this year -- if this fails, there won't be any GaymerX in 2017 and we really want to keep queer gaming going strong!

2) Tickets start at only $30 on this KS -- once its over, the price goes up to $45 (and then $60 at the door!)

3) Can't come but wanna support? We have Read Only Memories codes and REALLY COOL past year GaymerX T-shirts you can get!

The future of GaymerX is in your hands -- please help us continue bringing queer gaming dialogue and community!

GaymerX is now a 501c3 non-profit! Closing in on 50%!!!!
almost 7 years ago – Thu, Jun 01, 2017 at 08:38:24 PM

HUGE NEWS! GaymerX is now a registered 501c3 non-profit with the govt (after over 2 years of paperwork!) Future donations are tax-deductible, more transparency and more to come ! :D

weeee! We're about 15 days left and at about 45% so... we're just about on schedule. We're looking pretty good, but we need your help to hit that goal!

Please consider sharing with friends -- if we get 500 folks to buy tickets at $30 that'll cover most of what's left! :O

Thanks!!

Nearly 1/3 of the way there! Schedule! Hi from Matt!

Hey gaymers!

We're now about 1/3 of the way into the campaign for GaymerX East 2017, and we're just about where we thought we'd be. Just passed $10,000 and we're looking pretty good, but the challenge isn't over yet!

A few small updates for those who have been asking:

1) We hope to announce some really cool folks, events etc during this KS that you can expect during the show, so stay tuned for that.

2) We'll be launching a schedule page, eventbrite page, and panel/sprite submission page in the coming month, so please stay tuned. There is a forum on midboss.com you can also use, and feel free to email us at [email protected]

3) Ticket prices will go up to $45 after the KS is over, and $60 at the door, so please consider getting a ticket now to save the most money!

4) We need your help getting the word out there - if you know cool gamers in the NYC, Boston and East Coast area, please let them know about this event!

Lastly, we need your help in determining what themes, topics and games we should have at GX East this year-- we want your feedback! :D

Thank you! :D I'm looking forward to seeing you all in November!
